Job summary

The Education Network is seeking a Graduate Cover Supervisor in Shrewsbury. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain real classroom experience before moving into teacher training. You will provide cover for absent teachers, manage classroom behaviour, and support students academically.

The successful candidate will have a degree (2:2 or above) and will demonstrate strong communication skills. This position offers immediate start with the potential for a temporary to permanent contract.

Qualifications

Graduate Cover Supervisor

Can you keep a classroom calm, focused, and productive when the teacher is absent? Are you looking for a school-based role that gives you real classroom experience before teacher training?

• £90 - £110 per day
• Immediate start – Temp to Perm

• Provide 1:1, small group and cover classes for absent teachers

The Role

Work across the school providing classroom cover for absent teachers, alongside 1:1 and small group academic support where needed. You will supervise pre-set work, manage behaviour, keep pupils engaged in lessons, and support teaching staff with day-to-day classroom routines. This is a varied role that gives you direct exposure to classroom management, pupil behaviour, and the pace of life in a secondary school.

The Candidate

You are confident, organised, and able to lead a classroom with clear expectations and calm authority. You communicate well, think on your feet, and want practical secondary school experience that helps you build confidence before moving into teacher training. This role suits a graduate who is comfortable taking responsibility and ready to develop strong classroom presence.

Requirements
