Job summary

Kent is looking for a Graduate Control & Instrumentation Engineer to be based in Woking. You will join the C&I team on national and international projects across oil and gas, energy, renewables, and utilities, developing technically and professionally from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical/Instrument Engineering/Control/Systems/Automation/Robotics - accreditation by IET.
• Awareness of applicable international and industry specifications, standards and codes.
• Knowledge of Safety and Quality Procedures and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team under supervision of senior staff.
• Contribute to design and development of C&I systems across project lifecycle.
• Review Basis of Design, design philosophies and client standards.
• Assist with preparation of C&I deliverables including datasheets, drawings and specs.
• Understand process operations and interactions between plant, control and safeguarding systems.
• Support specification and selection of instrumentation and automation equipment.
• Gain exposure to PLC, DCS, SCADA, ICSS, SIS/ESD and Fire & Gas systems.
• Understand industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and OPC UA.
• Develop knowledge of IT/OT networking and cybersecurity principles.
• Ensure compliance with ISO Quality procedures and Design Integrity processes.
