Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking passionate graduates to join our Energy team as Graduate Control and Instrumentation Engineer. This role offers exposure to renewable energy, hydropower, thermal transition, and nuclear projects, with a focus on control, monitoring, automation, and protection systems.

As a graduate, you will contribute to design analyses, safety documentation, and instrument data sheets while benefiting from three-year development program and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Control and Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
• Less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Security clearance may be required; UK national or five years residence in the UK preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control system architectures, including programmable controllers and HMIs.
• Contribute to Control System Philosophy documents and functional specifications.
• Produce engineering calculations, cause-and-effect matrices, and safety documentation.
• Create detailed diagrams: instrument location, hook-up, termination, loop, and cable routing.
• Develop instrument data sheets, I/O schedules, and alarm schedules.
