Kier Group's Kier Places team is seeking a Graduate Construction Project Manager to work on sites across the Southampton region, supporting the Project Manager and delivery teams in construction and refurbishment projects.

You'll gain exposure across the full project lifecycle, supported by a development plan toward a recognised professional qualification or chartership, with a starting salary of £31,000 plus car allowance on some contracts and a two‑year progression pathway to an assistant

Qualifications

  • Hold a degree, or expected degree, in Construction Project Management, Construction Management or related built‑environment discipline.
  • Interest in pursuing professional membership or chartership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organised and methodical, able to manage priorities and maintain records.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and willing to travel to project locations.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Manager with day-to-day coordination and administration of projects.
  • Maintain project records, trackers, meeting notes and document control information.
  • Assist with planning, monitoring and reporting project progress against programmes and milestones.
  • Attend project meetings, recording actions and following up allocated items.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and internal teams.

Job description

We're looking for a Graduate ConstructionProject Manager to join our Kier Places team based on sites across the Southampton region.

Location: Southampton region
Hours: 40 hours per week
Starting Salary: £31,000 per annum + Car Allowance (on some contracts)
Pathway: Permanent, Full-time 2-year programme, leading to assistant level role upon completion with salary potential of CIRCA £38k
Starting date: September 2027

Kier Places is Kier's building, estate and property management business, delivering end-to-end solutions for places where people live and work. As a Graduate Project Manager, you'll work in a supporting role within the project delivery team, helping experienced Project Managers and operational colleagues with the safe, timely and high-quality delivery of construction and refurbishment projects. You'll gain experience across the full project lifecycle and benefit from a structured development plan that will support you towards a recognised professional qualification or chartership route.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Graduate Construction Project Manager, you'll be working within the project delivery team, supporting them in the successful delivery of construction and refurbishment projects.

Your day to day will include:
  • Supporting the Project Manager with day-to-day coordination and administration of projects
  • Maintaining accurate project records, trackers, meeting notes and document control information
  • Assisting with planning, monitoring and reporting project progress against agreed programmes and milestones
  • Attending project meetings, recording actions and following up allocated items
  • Building positive working relationships with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and internal teams
