Job summary

Assystem in the United Kingdom is offering a two-year Graduate Programme in the Consents team within our Project Management & Consulting business. You’ll work alongside experienced consultants supporting major energy and infrastructure projects across rail, highways, utilities, water and aviation.

Our team helps projects understand what permissions are required, develop practical consenting strategies and coordinate applications, approvals and commitments throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Recent graduates with a degree in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, Environmental Management, Infrastructure Planning, Geography, Law, Engineering, Archaeology, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Interest in how major energy and infrastructure projects are planned, approved and delivered.
• Willingness to learn planning, consenting, environmental and infrastructure legislation.
• Ability to research information, understand requirements and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Identify, coordinate and deliver project consents and approvals.
• Assist with site appraisals, consent applications, reports and supporting documentation.
• Maintain consent, commitment and requirement registers with accurate information.
• Monitor applications and progress, providing updates to project teams.
• Support post-consent activities, including discharge of requirements and certification processes.
• Collaborate with planners, environmental specialists, engineers and project managers.
• Engage with clients, local authorities, regulators and delivery partners.
• Identify consenting risks and escalate delays or non-compliance.
