Job summary

Arup is seeking graduates for their Civil Engineering team, focusing on energy and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will work with experienced engineers to plan, design and deliver civil infrastructure, including earthworks, drainage, highways and site access.

You will gain hands-on experience and use industry-leading digital tools. We offer structured training, mentoring and opportunity to contribute to renewable energy networks, substations and HVDC schemes as part of the energy

Qualifications

  • Masters level in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Ground/Geotechnical/Structural Engineering.
  • Civil Engineering design principles, interpretation of drawings, AutoCAD and GIS fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D, BIM and ISO 19650; experience with Revit a plus.
  • Strong data analysis, engineering calculations and technical report writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist planning, design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to earthworks, drainage, highways and site development design.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and use digital tools for project deliverables.
  • Undertake technical assessments, calculations, and site investigations; prepare reports and drawings.

The Opportunity

Our Civil Engineering team works at the heart of the energy transition, helping to deliver the infrastructure needed to connect renewable energy and improve the resilience of electricity networks. We support major projects across offshore wind, transmission and distribution, energy storage, HVDC infrastructure and pumped storage hydro. As a graduate engineer, you will work alongside experienced specialists and gain hands‑on experience in the planning, design and delivery of civil infrastructure, including site development, earthworks, drainage, highways and access arrangements. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, use industry‑leading digital tools and contribute to projects that have a lasting impact on the UK's net‑zero ambitions.

Contribute to the planning, design and delivery of major energy infrastructure projects, including offshore wind, transmission networks, substations, HVDC schemes and energy storage developments.

Support the development of civil engineering designs for earthworks, drainage, highways, access roads, foundations and site infrastructure using industry‑leading digital tools.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, environmental specialists, planners and project managers to develop integrated engineering solutions.

Undertake technical assessments, engineering calculations, site investigations and preparation of reports, drawings and project deliverables.

Develop professional and technical skills through structured training, mentoring and hands‑on project experience while supporting the delivery of sustainable infrastructure that enables the energy transition.
