Job summary

Stantec in Birmingham is inviting applications for a Graduate Civil Engineer as part of its Autumn 2027 Graduate Programme. You will join a market-leading Community Development discipline and work on drainage, utility and road design within a civils team.

You will gain experience across project stages, liaising with clients and professionals while developing technical competency using industry software. The role promotes professional chartership and long-term career progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Interest in the Infrastructure sector.
• Willing to commute to the Birmingham office 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical input into projects across residential infrastructure, drainage and highways.
• Perform varied design tasks for residential and commercial schemes using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other software.
• Support engineering activities from feasibility through construction, including calculations, analysis and inspections.
• Assess risk on projects and contribute to risk management to mitigate them.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, bids and proposals.
• Provide technical guidance on civil engineering matters to the wider project team.
• Attend meetings/workshops with clients and other disciplines.
