Job summary

Stantec in Birmingham is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer for our Autumn 2027 intake. You will join a market-leading Community Development civils team, gaining experience across drainage, utility and road designs while liaising with clients and disciplines.

The role emphasizes professional accreditation (IEng/CEng) and hands-on design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with site visits and early responsibility in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Assisting with technical input into a variety of projects, your day to day responsibilities could include:
• Working on residential infrastructure design solutions including drainage and highways, with sustainable approaches.
• Supporting feasibility through to construction with detailed calculations, analysis and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Finding the optimum and sustainable design solution for residential infrastructure including drainage and highways.
• Varied design works for residential and commercial schemes using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other industry software.
• Supporting on engineering activities from feasibility all the way through to construction, including the production of detailed calculations, analysis and inspections.
• Assessment risk on projects and undertaking of risk management to mitigate them.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, bids and proposals.
• Providing technical guidance on civil engineering matters to the wider project team.
• Attending meetings and workshops with clients and members of other disciplines.
