Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an Entry Level Drainage Engineer in Derby to start a career in flood risk, drainage, and water management. You will develop technical skills across development and infrastructure projects in the UK while contributing to drainage design and SuDS planning.

The role offers a path to professional growth through training programmes and exposure to a variety of challenging drainage projects, with a mix of office and home-based work and a competitive starting salary.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
Familiarity with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
Knowledge of hydrological or hydraulic modelling tools such as Flood Modeller or TUFLOW.
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK; ability to commute to Derby.

Responsibilities

Assist with flood risk and drainage assessments.
Support the preparation of SuDS strategies.
Prepare technical reports, calculations and supporting documentation.
Work on SuDS management and maintenance plans.
Liaise with clients, authorities, water companies and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with teams across water management, infrastructure design and transport planning.
Assist with the design and assessment of drainage infrastructure.
