Job summary

Babcock International in Plymouth offers a Science and Analytical Chemistry Graduate Programme starting September 2027. You will rotate across labs in Devonport, applying wet chemical analysis and radionuclide testing to support Royal Navy operations.

The two-year programme provides specialist training, mentorship, and progression toward Chartered Chemist status, with security clearances and site-based shifts. A competitive package accompanies the role.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) degree in a science subject (preferred).
• You should be comfortable working in a range of operational environments including potential hazards and safety restrictions.
• Site-based programme with shifts; willingness to travel to site and relocate if required.

Responsibilities

• Rotate across different teams over two years, gaining experience across laboratories and dockyard projects.
• Collect samples and apply wet chemical analysis to support safe operation of Royal Navy vessels.
• Work both in the lab and on-site in the dockyard, building technical expertise and responsibility.
