Job summary

Babcock in Plymouth is recruiting for a Science and Analytical Chemistry Graduate Programme starting September 2027. You'll rotate across laboratories in Devonport, applying wet chemistry and radiological analysis to support the Royal Navy.

The two-year development path includes mentor guidance, masterclasses, and a pathway to Chartered Chemist status, with a clear progression and opportunities to work on national safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• You should have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a BSc (Hons) degree in a science subject.
• Chemistry, Chemical, or Environmental Science based degrees are preferable.
• Site-based programme involving shifts; you’ll need to travel to site within commutable distance or relocate.
• A valid driving licence may be required to transport radiological materials.
• Security clearance requirements BPSS, SC and NNPPI may apply to this programme.

Responsibilities

• Rotate across different labs and projects in Devonport Royal Dockyard.
• Apply wet chemical analysis to support safe operation of Royal Navy vessels.
• Collect samples and use specialist equipment in varied environments.
