Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is offering a Graduate Buyer position as part of the 2027 Early Careers programme, based in Motherwell. You will gain hands-on procurement experience, take on real responsibilities from day one, and work with experienced colleagues to develop technical and professional skills for a career in infrastructure.

You’ll join a Power T&D team, exploring supplier selection, market research and day-to-day procurement activities while building your network and industry accreditations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain Management / Procurement, Business Management or related.
• Minimum 2:2 honours degree by the time you start.

Responsibilities

• Source materials, plant and services needed to keep projects running on schedule.
• Identify suppliers and compare solutions to support purchasing decisions.
• Learn supplier relationship management and how procurement supports major infrastructure projects.
• Assist with tendering, supplier checks and maintaining supplier information.
• Support the ordering of materials and production of simple reports for decision‑making.
