Job summary

Workman LLP is recruiting for a Building Surveyor trainee path, offering a 24–60 month programme across graduate, degree apprenticeship and non-RICS routes. You’ll inspect properties, prepare condition reports, and support refurbishment and compliance work for diverse commercial buildings.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, attend external events, and work toward APC to become Chartered. The role combines office–based study with site work, emphasising professional development.

Qualifications

• RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree with a minimum 2:2 or equivalent.
• Non-cognate degree with minimum 2:2 and APC potential.
• UCAS tariff points (or equivalent) for apprenticeships.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking building inspections and property surveys.
• Preparing schedules of condition, dilapidations, and defect reports.
• Assisting with contract administration and project management duties.
• Supporting refurbishment, repair, and maintenance projects.
• Preparing specifications, reports, and technical advice for clients.
• Ensuring compliance with building regulations and health & safety.
