Job summary

KPI Education is recruiting a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in St Helens for 3 days per week. This role focuses on supporting students with SEN and SEMH, delivering targeted interventions, and helping pupils re-engage with education.

A driving licence and vehicle are essential. We welcome graduates, SEN Teaching Assistants, Youth Workers or professionals who are passionate about alternative education and making a real difference to young

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Genuine passion for SEN, SEMH and supporting vulnerable young people.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour calmly and positively.
• Patience, adaptability and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group academic and behavioural support to students with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Support young people who have experienced exclusion, disrupted education or challenging circumstances.
• Deliver targeted academic interventions, particularly in English and Maths.
• Develop positive relationships to improve engagement, confidence and attitudes towards learning.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement individual support plans.
• Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
