Job summary

KPI Education in Stafford is seeking a Graduate Behaviour Mentor / Academic Mentor to support students with SEN and SEMH needs at a specialist PRU. The role involves building positive relationships, delivering targeted interventions, and helping students re-engage with education.

The ideal candidate is a resilient graduate or experienced mentor with a passion for alternative education and the ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly. Driving licence and own vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patience, adaptability and a proactive approach.
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour calmly and positively.
• A genuine passion for SEN, SEMH and supporting vulnerable young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group academic and behavioural support to students with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Support young people who have experienced exclusion or disrupted education.
• Deliver targeted academic interventions, particularly in English and Maths.
• Develop positive relationships to improve engagement, confidence and attitudes towards learning.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement individual support plans.
• Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
