Graduate Land Analyst

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: £35,000 + performance-based bonus £5,000 - £10,000

Reports to: Head of Commercial

Start date: ASAP (2024 / 2025 Graduate)

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy developer specialising in on-site solar and battery storage for commercial and industrial power users across the UK.

They design, fund and operate behind-the-metre clean energy assets that help organisations reduce emissions, lower energy costs and improve energy security, without the need for upfront capital expenditure.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who wants to build a career at the intersection of land, planning and renewable energy.

You will play a key role in identifying and assessing potential sites, supporting landowner engagement, and helping to build the commercial and planning case for new projects. Working in a small, entrepreneurial team, you will gain exposure to the full development lifecycle and have the chance to take on responsibility early.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying LPU’s to target and qualifying leads
  • Analysing land using the client’s in-house methodology, with a focus on planning policy, grid and land-use constraints
  • Supporting landowner engagement, including liaison with external agents, surveyors and legal representatives
  • Maintaining the CRM with accurate and relevant data on sites, stakeholders and deal progress
  • Understanding and operating the financial model used to assess land opportunities and project returns
  • Collaborating and aligning with the Commercial Team on site prioritisation and origination strategy
  • Assisting in the conduct of market analysis to support senior management decision-making
  • Supporting the business through ad hoc tasks typical of a high-growth start-up environment
Skills and Experience Required
  • Degree educated (RICS-accredited degree in Renewable Energy, Real Estate, Planning or a related discipline preferred; Masters / PhD advantageous)
  • Knowledge of the UK planning system and an interest in land and property development
  • Ability to think strategically while being comfortable working with detail and structured analysis
  • Demonstrable ambition to join a fast-growing company and work in a small, close-knit team
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine interest in renewable energy, sustainability and the energy transition
