Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Acoustic Consultant to join our UK team. You will conduct on-site and site-surveys for renewable energy sites, perform noise assessments, and contribute to planning-ready reports.

Qualifications

• Completed degree, preferably in acoustics, or in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related STEM subject.
• Relevant experience in acoustics or a general physics-based background ideally.
• Studied an acoustics-related course ideally.
• Ability to work independently when necessary and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
• Full UK clean driving licence.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Own transport required within 3 months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys, including detailed noise surveys and visual walk-around surveys for proposed renewable energy sites.
• Conduct site surveys supporting hydrology and transport teams when required.
• Analyse data and contribute to clear, high-quality technical reports for planning purposes.
• Conduct technical assessments for renewable energy, industrial, commercial, construction and residential projects.
• Complete BS4142, BS5228 and BS8233 noise assessments.
• Support Senior Environmental/Engineering Consultants.
• Use industry and in-house software packages.
• Engage with in-house multidisciplinary team members.
• Liaise with sister companies, clients and local authorities.
• Develop acoustics skills through site work, modelling, analysis and report writing with mentoring and training.
