Responsibilities

  • Tutoring A-Level Mathematics students one-to-one and in small groups.

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Graduate A-Level Maths Tutor

Location: WF1
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate - September 2026

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and academically strong A-Level Maths Tutor to join a college setting in the WF1 area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mathematics graduate or graduate from a related field looking to develop their career within education, working alongside experienced teaching staff to support A-Level Mathematics students.

The Role

You will provide academic and learning support across the A-Level Mathematics programme, helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding and prepare for examinations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting A-Level Mathematics students through one-to-one and small-group tutoring
  • Helping students understand challenging mathematical concepts
  • Supporting revision and examination preparation
  • Reinforcing learning delivered in the classroom
  • Identifying areas where students require additional support
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning and revision resources
  • Working closely with experienced Mathematics lecturers
  • Encouraging positive engagement and independent learning
About You

You must have:

  • A 2:1 degree or above in Mathematics or a related field - essential
  • Strong mathematical knowledge suitable for A-Level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • A proactive, organised and adaptable approach
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people and education

Previous teaching or college experience is not essential, although experience in tutoring, mentoring, teaching or working with young people would be advantageous.

Given the academic level of the students, the minimum 2:1 degree requirement is essential for consideration.
