Zusammenfassung

The Drayton Surgery is seeking a practice nurse to join a multidisciplinary primary care team. The role focuses on chronic disease management (asthma, COPD, diabetes), immunisations, wound care, and routine nursing procedures across two GP sites with readiness to undertake home visits.

You will work with colleagues to provide high-quality patient care, maintain vaccines and records, and contribute to preventative health initiatives within the practice.

Qualifikationen

• Qualified to give childhood and routine vaccinations.
• Qualified cervical smear taker.
• Qualified in leg ulcer and Doppler assessment.
• Experience in chronic disease management (asthma, COPD, diabetes).

Aufgaben

• Deliver nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team
• Manage chronic diseases such as asthma, COPD and diabetes
• Run treatment room services, including wound care, leg ulcer management, Doppler assessments, minor procedures and suture or clip removal
• Administer routine, childhood and travel immunisations
• Carry out cervical screening (HPV cytology)
• Take venepuncture and phlebotomy samples and request basic pathology tests
• Record ECGs, health checks and urinalysis
• Give injectable medications such as B12, Depo, Nebido, Clexane and Zoladex
• Maintain clinical rooms, stock levels and vaccine cold chain
• Keep accurate clinical records and report risks, incidents and concerns
• Contribute to health promotion and preventative care
• Undertake home and care home visits where required
