Job summary

K&W Healthcare, a GP-led group running 27 practices across Brent, seeks a registered nurse to assess, treat and screen patients, run chronic disease clinics and participate in cervical cytology and immunisation programs. The post also covers running the treatment room, recording keeping, and supervision of nursing activity.

Current NMC registration as an RGN and recent general practice experience are required, with an emphasis on infection control and CPD in line with revalidation.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration and GP practice experience.
• Up-to-date Basic Life Support and anaphylaxis training.
• Immunisation and vaccination training to national standards.
• Accredited cervical cytology training with smear-taking experience.
• Infection prevention and control training and knowledge of current legislation.
• Evidence of continuing professional development in line with NMC revalidation.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, screen and advise patients in line with NMC Code and protocols.
• Run chronic disease clinics and maintain call/recall systems.
• Provide nursing treatments independently or with clinical colleagues.
• Carry out health screenings and refer to the wider team as needed.
• Participate in national screening programs and immunisation schedules.
• Perform nursing procedures including wound care, injections, ECGs and minor procedures.
• Supervise nursing duties and manage the treatment room and stock levels.
• Keep accurate records and contribute to audits and reports.
• Assist with leg ulcers management and test interpretation.
• Contribute to service development, new initiatives and research.
