Job summary

Rothwell & Desborough Healthcare Group is seeking a motivated Healthcare Assistant to join the two-site practice across Rothwell Medical Centre and Desborough Surgery. You will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering clinical duties, supporting LTC management, health promotion, and preventative care services.

The role requires venepuncture, ECGs, wound care, injections and strong communication. You will help maintain accurate records and contribute to infection control and safeguarding

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
• Phlebotomy trained.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical records.
• Professional, caring and patient-focused approach.
• Understanding of infection control and clinical governance.
• Experience using SystmOne.
• Knowledge of primary care services and QOF.
• Awareness of safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture (essential) and ensure safe specimen handling.
• Undertake ECGs and basic diagnostic procedures.
• Provide wound care and dressings in line with protocols.
• Administer injections within scope of practice and training.
• Deliver NHS Health Checks and support preventative healthcare services.
• Monitor blood pressure and other routine observations.
• Support LTC management through basic monitoring and patient engagement.
• Promote health education and lifestyle advice to patients.
• Assist with vaccination programmes including seasonal flu.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using SystmOne.
