Job summary

Larksfield and Arlesey Medical Partnership in the UK is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our GP practice team. You will support clinicians during consultations and examinations, provide compassionate patient care, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Key duties include venepuncture, ECGs, NHS Health Checks, wound care and accurate data entry in the clinical system, in line with GDPR. You will cooperate with GPs, nurses and admin staff to ensure smooth workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Healthcare Assistant in GP practice or primary care.
• Competent in venepuncture, ECGs, NHS Health Checks and wound care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a caring approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good organisational skills and awareness of safeguarding and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Undertake clinical duties including venepuncture, ECGs, NHS Health Checks and wound care.
• Support clinicians during consultations, procedures and examinations.
• Label, process and store blood samples in line with procedures.
• Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, equipment and supplies.
• Provide reassurance and compassionate care to patients of all ages.
• Maintain accurate patient records and data entry in the clinical system (GDPR compliant).
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses and admin staff to ensure smooth workflow.
• Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, infection prevention and health and safety procedures.
