Qualifications

• Experience of working in primary care
• Experience of working in a GP practice
• Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients

Responsibilities

• Undertake duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits and repeat prescriptions.
• Make autonomous clinical decisions for presenting problems.
• Assess health care needs of undiagnosed patients.
• Screen for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Develop care plans with patients following current practice disease management protocols.
• Provide counselling and health education.
• Record clear consultation notes and collect data for audits.
• Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions and prescribe generically when appropriate.
• Perform normal GP duties in primary care.
