Job summary

Qualifications

• Fully qualified General Practitioner with GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Experience in service redesign, quality improvement or transformation programmes.
• Experience of employment support and vocational rehabilitation programmes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and professional oversight to the pilot.
• Act as a senior clinical adviser to the multidisciplinary team.
• Promote best practice in work and health interventions and fit note reform.
• Support management of clinical risks and governance issues.
• Provide clinical input into referral pathways, operating procedures and service protocols.
• Ensure pathways align with primary care workflows and national policy requirements.
• Support development of clinical escalation and risk management processes.
• Review emerging evidence and support implementation of best practice.
• Engage with GP practices, PCNs and wider clinical stakeholders to promote participation.
• Act as a clinical ambassador for the programme.
• Support communication and engagement activities with participating practices.
• Identify key clinical outcomes and measures for evaluation.
• Provide clinical interpretation of pilot data and performance information.
• Contribute to evaluation reports and recommendations.
• Support dissemination of learning and future service development opportunities.
• Advise on future opportunities for scaling and sustaining the service.
• Support alignment with wider primary care, prevention and workforce priorities.
• Contribute to strategic discussions regarding fit note reform and work and health programmes.
