Job summary

PHL Group operates the Dudley Urgent Treatment Centre and is seeking an experienced Clinical Lead GP who combines clinical excellence with leadership, governance and quality-improvement capability.

You will provide high-quality consultations, lead on clinical quality assurance, support KPI delivery, safeguard practices, and work with the Medical Director and wider clinical team to ensure safe, effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical consultations and assessment of patients presenting to the Urgent Care Centre
• Provide clinical leadership, advice and support to GPs and other clinical colleagues
• Lead on clinical quality assurance, including consultation audits, annual appraisals and clinical performance
• Support the service to achieve its KPIs and national service specifications
• Identify areas of clinical risk and develop mitigation plans
• Work with Safeguarding Lead to ensure excellent safeguarding practice
• Provide clinical assurance to the Medical Director regarding safety, quality and performance
• Collaborate with resourcing when reviewing applicants with medical-claims or GMC investigations
• Undertake clinical and administrative responsibilities appropriate to seniority of the role
• Assess, diagnose and manage acute primary care presentations
• Provide treatment, advice and health education
• Maintain clear clinical records
• Ensure safeguarding referrals
• Identify/escalate issues related to clinical quality, safety and risk
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge through CPD and lifelong learning

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead GP to join our Dudley Urgent Treatment Centre and provide clinical leadership across the service. Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week This is an exciting opportunity for a GP who combines strong clinical expertise with leadership, governance and quality improvement experience. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality patient care, while supporting and developing the wider clinical team. Working closely with the Service Manager, Medical Director, Clinical Quality & Governance Team and other clinical leads, you will provide visible clinical leadership and assurance across the service., As Clinical Lead GP, you will

• Provide high-quality clinical consultations and assessment of patients presenting to the Urgent Care Centre.
• Provide clinical leadership, advice and support to GPs and other clinical colleagues.
• Lead on clinical quality assurance, including consultation audits, annual appraisals and clinical performance.
• Support the service to achieve its KPIs and national service specifications.
• Identify areas of clinical risk and work with relevant teams to develop appropriate mitigation plans.
• Work closely with the Safeguarding Lead to ensure excellent safeguarding practice across the service.

• Work with the resourcing team when reviewing applicants with previous/current medical legal claims or GMC investigations.
• Undertake clinical and administrative responsibilities appropriate to the seniority of the role.
