National Gas Transmission PLC is seeking a Governance Analyst to support the establishment and continuous improvement of governance across IT, OT, CNI, Physical Security and Cyber Security. You will help develop, communicate and measure security policies, standards and governance processes with colleagues across security, risk, compliance, technology and operations.

• Experience in Security Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) or related discipline.
• Experience supporting or administering security policies, standards, or governance processes.
• Understanding of IT, Cyber Security, and/or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
• Experience producing reporting, dashboards, or management information.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the enterprise security policy framework across IT, OT, CNI, Physical Security and Cyber Security.
• Review policies and standards to align with regulatory requirements and risk appetite.
• Manage policy lifecycle activities including drafting, approvals, publication and refresh.
• Maintain the security standards library with traceability to controls and obligations.
• Support governance forums and approval boards with materials and tracking.
• Contribute to adoption of practical policies and standards across the organisation.
• Support the security culture and communications plan and awareness campaigns.
• Produce security governance reporting and dashboards for risk-informed decisions.
• Assist with regulatory reports and responses to Ofgem, DESNZ and other regulators.

About the role:

The Governance Analyst supports the establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of governance frameworks across IT, OT (Operational Technology), CNI (Critical National Infrastructure), Physical Security, and Cyber Security.

The role contributes to the development, communication, adoption, and measurement of security policies, standards, and governance processes across the organisation. Working closely with colleagues across security, risk, compliance, technology, and operations, the Governance Analyst enables consistent governance practices and helps ensure regulatory expectations are met.

Key accountabilities:

• Support the development and maintenance of the enterprise security policy framework across IT, OT, CNI, Physical Security, and Cyber Security.
• Conduct reviews of policies and standards to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practice, and organisational risk appetite.
• Assist with policy lifecycle activities including drafting, consultation, approval preparation, publication, and scheduled refresh.
• Maintain the security standards library, ensuring traceability to controls, frameworks, and regulatory obligations.
• Support governance forums and approval boards through preparation of materials, tracking actions, and documenting outcomes.
• Contribute to the adoption of practical, implementable policies and standards across the organisation.
• Support delivery of the security culture and communications plan, including awareness campaigns, targeted messaging, and content development for different audiences.
• Produce security governance reporting and dashboards, providing MI and insights to support risk informed decision making.
• Support the compilation of regulatory reports, self assessments, and responses to Ofgem, DESNZ and other regulators on behalf of GRC.

About you:

• Experience in Security Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) or related discipline.
• Experience supporting or administering security policies, standards, or governance processes.
• Understanding of IT, Cyber Security, and/or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
• Experience producing reporting, dashboards, or management information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical, operational, and business stakeholders.
• Experience working in, or understanding of, Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environments (desirable), or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of relevant security frameworks such as:
• ISO 27001
• NIST Cybersecurity Framework
• NIS / NIS2
• IEC 62443 (OT security)
• Awareness of both cyber and physical security governance principles.
• Relevant professional certifications or a willingness to work toward them (e.g., Security+, ISO 27001 Internal Auditor, CISMP)
