Job summary

Workchain is seeking a Goods In Operative in Bristol to support receipt, checking and movement of incoming stock in a busy food production environment.

This permanent day-shift role offers £13 per hour, paid every Wednesday. The successful candidate will be organised, safety-conscious and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in goods in, warehousing, or similar environment is useful but not essential.
• Good attention to detail and careful stock checking.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete records accurately.
• Good timekeeping and reliability with a positive attitude.
• Flexible to work on your feet in a busy operation.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

• Receive deliveries and check goods against accompanying paperwork
• Inspect items for quantity, quality, condition and date information
• Record incoming stock accurately and report discrepancies
• Move goods safely to the correct storage or production areas
• Support stock rotation and maintain clear identification of products
• Keep goods-in areas clean, tidy and organised
• Follow workplace, food hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Work cooperatively with colleagues across the operation

Skills and qualifications

• Previous experience in goods in, warehousing, stock control, food production or a similar environment would be useful, but is not essential
• Good attention to detail and a careful approach to checking stock
• Ability to follow instructions and complete records accurately
• Good timekeeping, reliability and a positive attitude
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Reasonable physical fitness for moving goods and spending time on your feet
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety
