Job summary

HR-CL Limited is hiring a Goods-In Operative for our Sutton Coldfield site. You will handle inbound freight, manage stock levels, and perform random inspections while working within a busy manufacturing environment. You’ll be trained to support other areas of the business during quieter periods.

The role requires at least 1 year in warehouse/goods-in, a valid FLT license, and solid IT skills with WMS. Expect a proactive, team-oriented environment with daytime hours and opportunities to expand

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Warehouse/Goods-In operations.
• A valid FLT (Forklift Truck) license is required.
• Strong stock control and inventory management background.
• Good IT skills with MS Word/Excel/Outlook; familiarity with WMS.
• Organised, able to work under pressure and cross-train.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound freight and control inventory with WMS.
• Conduct random and batch inspections of selected commodities.
• Lead regular stock-takes and maintain documentation.
• Promote Health & Safety standards and complete MHE checklists.
• Maintain 5S compliant housekeeping and organization.
• Support other departments during quieter periods and learn new tasks.

About the Role

Are you an experienced Warehouse or Goods-In Operative looking for a role with variety and genuine opportunities to learn?

We are looking for a proactive, diligent, and approachable Goods-In Operative to join our busy manufacturing site in Sutton Coldfield. Because our operation handles around 3 to 4 key deliveries a day, this is a unique position. It offers a fantastic environment for someone who doesn't want to just stand at a loading bay all day—you will be supported and trained to help out in other areas of the business during quieter periods, expanding your skillset across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Goods-In & Inventory: Manage inbound freight, control inventory levels through physical counts, and reconcile data with our warehouse management systems.


• Goods-In, Random and/or batch inspections of selected commodities.


• Stock Control: Lead and manage regular stock-taking processes and documentation.


• Health & Safety: Promote top-tier H&S standards, complete Material Handling Equipment (MHE) checklists, and report any accidents or near misses following company procedures.


• Housekeeping: Maintain exceptional standards of workplace organization and housekeeping (following 5S principles).


• Cross-Training & Growth: Bring a flexible attitude to support other departments and learn new aspects of the business operations when daily deliveries are complete.

What We Are Looking For :

Essential:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Warehouse Operative or Goods-In Operative.


• A valid FLT (Forklift Truck) License.


• Solid background in stock control and inventory management.


• Good basic IT skills (confident using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook) and familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).


• Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.


• A proactive, positive, and approachable attitude—with a genuine willingness to cross-train and learn other parts of the business.

Desirable:

• 5S workplace organization awareness.


• Previous experience working with high-speed loading doors and loading bays.
