A well-established manufacturer is seeking a Goods In operative to join their team. As a Goods in Operator you will be inspecting all deliveries, booking in and processing deliveries and managing the stock.

Goods In Operator responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate stock levels through rolling stocktakes and system adjustments.
  • Ensure prompt racking of received goods.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming deliveries from suppliers.
  • Check delivery quantities against paperwork and confirm specifications using measuring equipment.
  • Book deliveries into the electronic system and generate identification labels as required.
  • Load and unload vehicles efficiently.
  • Operate forklift trucks and hand pallet trucks for material movement.
  • Provide support to Stores, Production, and other team members as needed.
Skills & experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of stock control and booking-in procedures.
  • Solid numeracy skills and ability to diagnose and resolve problems effectively.
  • Self‑motivated team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Capable of working unsupervised, using own initiative and prioritising tasks.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral, written, and general communication skills.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Holds a Forklift Licence (training can be provided for the right candidate)
