Job summary

JobsTrackR is seeking a diligent Goods-In Inspector for a busy Reading-based manufacturing environment. You will inspect incoming materials, components and products to ensure they meet drawings, specifications and quality requirements before release into production or stock.

The role requires experience with precision measuring tools (verniers, micrometers), ability to read engineering drawings and a strong attention to detail, plus good written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Goods-In, Quality Inspection or Manufacturing Inspection roles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection of incoming components, materials and manufactured parts.
• Check goods against engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders and quality requirements.
• Perform dimensional inspections using verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other measuring instruments.
• Complete visual inspections for damage, defects, finish and general workmanship.
• Verify accompanying documentation, including certificates of conformity and relevant inspection records.
• Accurately record inspection results and maintain quality documentation.

Job Title: Goods-In Inspector

Job Type: Contract, 3 month (temp to perm)

Location: Reading

Rate: £15-£16.00 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00-18:30

Goods-In Inspector role

• Carry out inspection of incoming components, materials and manufactured parts.
