Job summary

Tatton Recruitment is seeking a Goods Inwards Inspector in Farnworth on a 12-month contract. The role involves verifying supplier goods against purchase orders, reading drawings, and inspecting parts for quality and finish.

You will produce QC documentation and ensure timely inspections while maintaining high workmanship standards. Ideal candidates have an NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or an HNC, with SAP literacy desirable and a strong focus on process compliance and safety in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure goods from suppliers meet purchase order criteria and are compliant.
• Verify and accept procured products in line with contractual conditions.
• Read assembly drawings and check dimensional tolerances and machined parts.
• Inspect finish quality, detect faults and perform first-off inspections.
• Produce inspection/quality control documentation.
• Complete paperwork for delivered articles.
• Ensure inspections times are met and defects are segregated.
• Maintain product verification via regular audits and PCB inspection.
• Ensure compliance with procedures governing the manufacturing process.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and product quality.
• Contribute to a safe and orderly working environment.

Contract Details

Contract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing thereafter)

Hourly Rate: £29.02ph rising to £30.38ph after 12 weeks (Umbrella). Overtime: hours worked over 37 hours per week is paid at time and a half.

Goods Inwards Inspector Job Description

• The role of the Goods Inwards Inspector is to ensure that goods received from suppliers meet the criteria of the purchase order and are compliant in all respects.
• Verify and accept procured product in line with contractual conditions.
• Practiced in reading and understanding assembly drawings with due regards to dimensional tolerances and machined.
• Examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc. Undertaking first off inspections.
• Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation.
• Check and complete all paperwork associated with the delivered article.
• Ensure inspections times are met.
• Control defect items via segregation from good product. Raise and maintain relevant defect reports.
• Maintain product verification approval process via regular audits. Inspection of PCB
• Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
• Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
• Contribute to the maintenance of an orderly and safe working environment.

Skillset/experience required

• The successful candidate should be a team player who is able to demonstrate customer focus. They should be adaptable to any work-related processes and working practices.
• Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or HNC.
• Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent certificate.
• SAP literate is desirable
