Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Materials Management Goods-in Co-ordinator / Assistant to join the Procurement and Materials Management team. The role ensures medical supplies are received, managed and delivered efficiently to wards and departments across the hospital.

You will process deliveries, use electronic procurement systems, monitor stock levels and support clinical teams to maintain stock availability, contributing to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience receiving and processing deliveries with accurate receipting.
• Familiarity with electronic procurement and stock management systems.
• Experience delivering goods to wards/departments.
• Ability to monitor stock levels and manage stock rotation.
• Strong relationship-building with clinical teams, suppliers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

This is a vital role supporting clinical and non-clinical departments across the hospital by ensuring medical supplies and essential stock are received, managed and delivered efficiently. Working behind the scenes, you will play a key role in helping our clinical teams provide outstanding patient care by ensuring wards and departments have the supplies they need, when they need them., As a Materials Management Goods-in Co-ordinator / Assistant, you will:

• Receive and process deliveries, ensuring goods arrive undamaged and are accurately receipted.
• Use electronic procurement and stock management systems to process orders and deliveries.
• Deliver goods to wards and departments across the hospital.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish supplies using established materials management processes.
• Carry out regular stock reviews and maintain efficient stock rotation.
• Manage returns, delivery discrepancies and supplier queries.
• Support departments during urgent supply requirements and help resolve stock issues.
• Build strong relationships with clinical teams, suppliers and colleagues across the organisation.
