Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com in Watford is seeking a mid-level Golang engineer to strengthen our integration platform that connects Grocery Partners with the Just Eat Takeaway marketplace. You’ll primarily build in Go, working on event-driven microservices deployed to Kubernetes and AWS, with opportunities to grow toward senior roles.

Qualifications

• Years of backend engineering with production Go experience (1+ year) or 2+ years in another modern backend language.
• Strong Go fundamentals: concurrency, error handling, interfaces.
• Microservice and event-driven design experience.
• Built and run at least one production service end to end, including monitoring.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Curiosity and ownership; clear communicator.
• Familiarity with AI tools in development (Claude Code, Kiro) and ability to explain/defend code.
• Pair programming experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes or another container platform is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build new features in Go for the core platform.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help move the platform forward.
• Support product and delivery teams.
• Learn from senior engineers and share what you pick up with the team.
