Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a mid-level Golang engineer to join our worldwide platform. You will work on an event-driven, microservice-based backend stack running on Kubernetes, with Kafka, AWS, and observability tools.

You’ll grow into a role that can progress toward senior engineering while contributing to core functionality used by thousands of partners. You’ll collaborate with product and delivery teams, practice TDD, pair programming and AI-assisted development to move fast yet

Qualifications

• Several years of backend engineering experience with production Go.
• Solid Go fundamentals: concurrency, error handling and interfaces.
• Microservice and event-driven design experience.
• You've built and run at least one production service end to end, including monitoring.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Curiosity and ownership.
• AI-assisted development: the team uses tools like Claude Code and Kiro.
• Pair programming experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes or another container platform would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build new features in our core language, Golang.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help move the platform forward.
• Support product and delivery teams.
• Learn from senior engineers, and share what you pick up with the team.
