ItecoPeople is seeking a Backend Developer to join a growing AI and automation team in London. You'll design, build and maintain Go microservices on a modern cloud-native Azure platform, delivering robust APIs and integrations in a hybrid work setup.

Working in a small, collaborative engineering unit, you’ll containerise services with Docker and Kubernetes, participate in code reviews, and help enhance reliability and performance across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Strong professional backend development experience with Go.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, alongside Git, CI/CD and GitOps practices.
• Commitment to clean, well-tested code and Agile teamwork.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana or OpenTelemetry is beneficial.

Backend Developer (Go)

Salary: Up to £61,000 per annum

Contract: 12-month FTC, with potential for extension

Location: London - hybrid, 2 days a week on site

Our prestigious client is looking for a Backend Developer to join a growing AI and automation team, building services and integrations across a complex enterprise environment.

Joining a small, collaborative engineering team, you’ll develop Go microservices on a modern, cloud-native Azure platform. Your work will connect enterprise systems, automate processes and deliver practical improvements across the organisation.

The role

• Design, build and maintain backend services, primarily in Go, with Python where appropriate.
• Develop REST APIs, webhooks and event‑driven integrations connecting internal systems and third‑party platforms.
• Contribute across the development lifecycle, from design and testing through to deployment and ongoing support.
• Participate in code reviews, improve reliability and performance, and produce clear technical documentation.
• Containerise and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes, with support from the wider team.

What we’re looking for

• Strong professional backend development experience, with substantial hands‑on Go expertise.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with event‑driven architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, alongside Git, CI/CD and GitOps practices.
• A commitment to clean, well‑tested code and experience working within Agile teams.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to technical problem‑solving.
• Experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana or OpenTelemetry would be beneficial. This is a hands‑on backend development role; deep AI or LLM expertise isn’t required.
