Backend Software Engineer / Developer (Go / Golang) London / WFH to £95k
Are you a backend focused technologist with experience of working on highly scalable, distributed systems?
You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on Backend Software Engineer role at a scaling technology company that specialises in renewable energy storage and trading.
As a Backend Software Engineer you will join a small, cross functional Agile team developing a software platform that is helping drive the transition to a more sustainable energy future. You'll build backend services that automate energy trading across UK and international markets, process high frequency telemetry data from battery sites, and power low-level control and dispatch systems for energy management. You'll also help expose platform capabilities through web applications and public APIs.
Working across a modern technology stack including Go, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, TimescaleDB, S3, Athena, Pulsar and AWS, you'll design, build and maintain scalable, reliable backend services, contributing to event driven architecture and CI/CD practices using GitLab.
Alongside hands-on development, you'll help shape technical direction, share best practices and mentor other engineers. It's an opportunity to work in a fast-moving industry where you'll need to balance longer term technical strategy with pragmatic solutions to immediate challenges.
Location / WFH:
You can work from home in a hybrid model, joining the team in London twice a week.
