Job summary

Avantor, Inc. is seeking a Material Technologist to support receipt, storage, sampling, dispensing and distribution of materials in a highly regulated GMP environment.

You will work hands-on to ensure safety, quality and compliance while helping manufacturing operations and essential supply continuity. The role involves using inventory systems, preparing shipments, maintaining documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in GMP/GDP/pharma or chemical regulated environments.
• Forklift Truck certification or experience is desirable.
• Health & safety qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience using Quality Management Systems and controlled documentation.
• Proficient IT skills, including Teams, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, store, and manage materials using inventory systems and meet KPIs.
• Perform material sampling and dispensing per GMP procedures.
• Safely handle bulk chemicals and solvents; operate forklift when required.
• Generate labels, prepare shipments, and support warehousing and distribution.
• Author, review, and maintain SOPs and other critical documentation.
• Support manufacturing operations and deviation investigations when needed.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, quality requirements, and site safety.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and site projects.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
