Avantor in Macclesfield, UK, is seeking a Material Technologist to manage chemical materials and solvents within a GMP environment. You will handle receipt, storage, sampling, dispensing, and distribution, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

This hands-on role supports manufacturing and supply chain activities, contributes to continuous improvement, and requires collaboration with a cross-functional team to keep materials available when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in GMP, GDP, pharmaceutical, chemical, or regulated environment.
• Forklift Truck (FLT) certification or experience is desirable, but not a hard requirement
• Health & Safety qualifications would be advantageous.
• Experience using Quality Management Systems and controlled documentation.

Responsabilités

• Receive, inspect, store, and manage materials using inventory systems while meeting KPIs.
• Perform material sampling and dispensing activities per GMP procedures and quality standards.
• Safely handle bulk chemicals and solvents, including forklift operation where required.
• Generate labels, prepare shipments, and support warehousing and distribution activities.
• Author, review, and maintain key operational documentation and SOPs.
• Support manufacturing operations through efficient material management practices.
• Participate in deviation investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain GMP, GDP, quality requirements, and site safety expectations.
• Prioritize daily activities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, site projects, and operational targets.
• Participate in SHE and GMP inspections, audits, and tours.
