Avantor is seeking a Material Technologist in Macclesfield to manage the receipt, storage, sampling, and distribution of chemical materials in a GMP environment. This hands-on role focuses on safety, quality, and compliant operations within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include material handling, labeling, shipments, and documentation, supporting both clinical and manufacturing activities while driving continuous improvement and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in GMP/GDP, pharmaceutical, chemical, or regulated environments.
• FLT certification is desirable but not required.
• Health & Safety qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience using Quality Management Systems and controlled documentation.

Responsabilités

• Receive, inspect, store, and manage materials using inventory systems and meet KPIs.
• Perform material sampling and dispensing per GMP procedures and quality standards.
• Safely handle bulk chemicals and solvents; operate forklift when required.
• Generate labels, prepare shipments, and support warehousing and distribution for on-time delivery.
• Author, review, and maintain SOPs and key operation documents.
• Support manufacturing operations through efficient material management.
• Contribute to deviation investigations by identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain GMP, GDP, quality requirements, and site safety compliance.
• Prioritize daily activities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and site initiatives.
• Assist in SHE and GMP inspections, audits, and tours.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members; promote team culture.
• Build relationships with internal and external customers through responsive service.
