Job summary

The Pirbright Institute, a world-leading veterinary research centre, seeks a CVIM GMP Facility Lead to drive production efficiency and facility operations within a highly regulated environment.

The role combines strategic influence with hands-on leadership, delivering end-to-end GMP processes, and leading the CVIM GMP Team to optimise manufacturing, qualification, and validation activities across the facility.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in GMP-related industry.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Experience in cleanrooms ISO7/ISO8.
• Proven leadership in high-volume manufacturing in biotech/pharma.
• Knowledge of cGMP, EU GMP/MHRA and QMS.
• Strong communication and training abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with data presentation to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage GMP facility strategy and production plans.
• Lead cross-functional teams across process development, QC, facilities and production.
• Ensure cGMP compliance and inspect readiness across the facility.
• Oversee production, storage and shipping in a compliant manner.
• Drive continuous improvement, budget management, and asset utilisation.
• Mentor and train staff, ensuring adequate personnel coverage.
• Coordinate with multiple departments for project planning and execution.
