Job summary

Van der Vlist UK is seeking an Operations Co-ordinator to keep complex transport movements moving from order to delivery and invoicing. Based in Hull, you’ll coordinate national and international road and sea movements, handle customs documentation, and liaise with customers, suppliers, and authorities to keep projects on track.

You’ll own planning boards, optimise routes, process orders, and support with on-site movements of machinery and equipment, creating smooth, compliant operations daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics, freight forwarding, or similar operational environment.
• Familiarity with customs procedures or willingness to develop knowledge.
• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and professional telephone manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Outlook/Word).
• Good geographical awareness and map tool usage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate national and international transport movements by road and sea.
• Process customer orders and transport administration.
• Maintain daily planning board.
• Manage customs-related procedures and documentation.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, authorities, and partners.
• Raise and issue transport documentation, PODs, and invoices.
• Support storage and movements of machinery on site.
