Job summary

VanRath is recruiting a Transport Co-Ordinator for its NI branch to manage day-to-day freight movements, ensure accurate documentation and meet transit targets. The role suits someone from a groupage shipping or transport background in a busy, deadline-driven desk.

Key duties include planning UK import activity, preparing export documentation (including Dangerous Goods), invoicing, briefing carriers, and building strong customer relationships while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in groupage shipping or transport environment preferred.
• Experience with Dangerous Goods documentation advantageous but not required.
• Knowledge of exports and customs procedures helpful but not essential.
• Able to plan and work to tight deadlines.
• Computer literate.
• Proactive with excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Full clean driving licence and own transport essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and control UK import activity day to day, booking onto the freight system and meeting customs and transit requirements.
• Prepare export documentation and final manifests, including Dangerous Goods Notifications for onward shipping.
• Cost and invoice files prior to export, delivery or release.
• Brief transport companies with the information needed to meet collection and delivery requirements.
• Prepare KPIs and carry out proof of delivery scanning.
• Build strong relationships with key customers, understanding their shipping needs.
