Position: Global Trade Compliance Manager (GTCM)

To ensure compliance with all domestic and international trade regulations (Customs and Exports). This role contributes to, manages, and supports RUK's international trade compliance program. The GTCM investigates and tests adherence to trade compliance policies through monitoring, assessments, and audits. The role involves presenting and advising on GT activities to prevent non-conformance, creating incident reports, drafting disclosures, and recommending corrective actions. It reports to the Head of Global Trade Compliance and supports continuous improvements across GT operations and other business functions. Travel within the UK is required, with occasional international travel.

Main Duties

  1. Provide expert compliance advice on domestic and international trade activities, with strong UK Customs, UK Export Controls, and U.S. Export Controls experience.
  2. Coordinate with GT team on corrective improvement plans.
  3. Support development of policies, procedures, and work instructions related to import and export compliance in collaboration with GT Operations and the business.
  4. Ensure all regulatory registrations, reports, and returns are maintained and actioned properly.
  5. Review export control and licensing issues, establish facts, and recommend solutions for timely delivery and future protection.
  6. Conduct internal assessments of trade compliance activities, ensuring effective implementation of controls, policies, and procedures, including product classifications, licensing, customs procedures, and record-keeping.
  7. Review trade records for compliance, working with Legal and GT Operations to investigate and resolve issues.
  8. Support assessments and testing of Parent company Controls and Monitoring systems (CAMS).
  9. Possess extensive knowledge of UK Export and Import Regulations, U.S. ITAR/EAR Regulations, UK Customs, and shipping procedures.
  10. Understand government systems like SPIRE, LITE, CHIEF, CDS.
  11. Demonstrate strong communication skills, including report drafting within deadlines.
  12. Maintain meticulous attention to detail and organized workflow.
  13. Build relationships and deliver training through effective interpersonal communication.

Salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience.
