Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Learning and Development Manager to lead technical capability programmes across AI-native engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Software Engineering. You will partner with technology leaders to deliver curriculum design through global delivery and evidenced certification.

You will manage learning platforms, shape graduate and early-career talent programmes, and drive AI fluency with measurable outcomes across North America, India and Europe.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and delivering engaging technical learning programmes within a global technology environment.
• Experience developing graduate or early-career talent programmes that accelerate readiness and productivity.
• Experience with apprenticeship levy funding and other external learning routes.
• Formal L&D, instructional design or learning professional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical capability programmes end-to-end across AI Engineering, Data Science and Early Careers, from design through delivery, assessment and rollout.
• Partner with Technology leaders and SMEs to identify capability needs and translate them into effective learning solutions.
• Drive adoption of the AI Fluency Framework by designing learning pathways and development experiences that build capability across engineering teams.
• Own assessment and certification approaches, ensuring capability is evidenced through practical application rather than completion alone.
• Partner with the Senior L&D Manager to shape the graduate capability strategy, including demand planning and delivery of technical bootcamps.
• Manage learning platforms and resources, ensuring a high-quality learner experience.
• Oversee external learning partners, maintaining delivery quality, scope and standards.
