Job summary

Universal Music Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Operations Center. You will apply server and cloud management skills to ensure the smooth operation of the global infrastructure, communicating findings to stakeholders and IT teams to resolve issues quickly.

The role requires three years of server/cloud experience, strong virtualization knowledge, scripting for automation, and excellent communication across technical and business audiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in technical server management and/or enterprise Cloud systems (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technology (VMware, Hyper‑V)
• Experience with scripting to develop automation and reporting
• Exposure to managing large cloud server infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure
• Communicate clearly in both the written and verbal mode to technical and non-technical audiences
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
• Be an excellent and creative problem solver
• Familiarity with operating systems including Microsoft, Mac OS X, and Linux

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and solve problems under time constraints and business pressure
• Contribute to capacity and performance analysis
• Work with vendors and global IT groups to resolve problems promptly
• Escalate and communicate issues as primary contact for application communities
• Monitor infrastructure alerts and maintain high quality processes and documentation
• Maintain and implement high quality operational standards and disaster recovery procedures
• Develop automation to reduce routine tasks
• This position will be shift-based.
