Job summary

FINTEC recruit Ltd is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator for an engineering client in Newcastle. The role supports the supply chain function to ensure the efficient supply of equipment, spares and services to customers worldwide, with some UK and overseas travel.

The position involves coordinating freight forwarding, supplier relationships and compliant supply chain processes in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics; marine/shipping experience advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with SAGE or similar systems is desirable.
• A proactive, practical and problem-solving approach.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, supplier quotations, pricing and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate freight forwarding, imports/exports and customs clearance.
• Manage the movement of ship spares and equipment, including bonded goods.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
• Resolve delivery, pricing and supply issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate supply chain, procurement and logistics records and produce reports.
• Ensure supply chain activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements and relevant legislation.
• Support continuous improvement across procurement, logistics and supply chain processes.
