Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences in Wotton, Surrey, seeks an experienced Shipping and Logistics Coordinator to ensure timely, compliant and cost-effective movement of products across the UK, EU and Rest of World. You will book shipments, manage returns, handle customs documentation and consolidate weekly shipments for key accounts.

You will liaise with Sales, Planning, Warehouse and Finance, maintain records, chase due dates and drive continuous improvement in the shipping function, with ERP/WMS experience

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a shipping, freight or logistics coordination role, ideally within a regulated or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of import/export documentation and trade/customs compliance.
• Strong Excel skills and data handling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across departments and with external carriers.
• Highly organized, able to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with ERP/WMS systems (Oracle Cloud) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Book and coordinate all parcel and freight/pallet shipments with the best carrier and service level for cost, speed and compliance.
• Handle shipments for all returns.
• Manage import/export compliance including customs documents and tariff/country of origin classification.
• Source, compare and document freight quotes and link costs to invoices.
• Coordinate weekly shipment consolidation for key accounts.
• Maintain delivery schedules and chase due dates to prevent slippage.
• Track and report shipment costs and identify savings opportunities.
• Liaise with Sales, Customer Service/Planning, Warehouse and Finance to resolve shipping queries.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and spreadsheets for reporting.
• Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives within shipping.
