Green & Wolvin Recruitment is supporting a Nottingham-based client in hiring a Shipping & Carrier Manager. You will lead inbound/outbound logistics, manage a team of 5 shipping coordinators, and handle raw material purchasing to meet production needs.

The role is based in Nottingham on a hybrid basis, focusing on supplier management, freight procurement, Incoterms, and continuous improvement across agriculture and food supply chains.

Formación

• 3+ years' experience in Shipping, Freight, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or Buying within shipping or commodities industries.
• Experience pricing & planning ocean or road freight within freight forwarding or supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of food ingredients and commodity categories is advantageous.
• Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills.
• Ability to identify and evaluate suppliers based on requirements, price, quality, speed and service.
• Commutable to Nottinghamshire on a hybrid basis.
• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Shipping & Carrier Management: manage inbound/outbound logistics, hauliers and carrier relationships.
• Lead a team of 5 shipping coordinators and operational specialists.
• Purchase commodities, food ingredients and production materials to meet business needs.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with UK and international suppliers to secure prices and supply.
• Negotiate shipping rates and contracts to optimise cost and service.
• Coordinate deliveries with production schedules, stock requirements and warehouse capacity.
• Manage customs documentation and UK trade regulations.
• Monitor freight expenditure, purchasing costs and total landed costs; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Identify supply chain risks, delays and develop alternative sourcing and transport solutions.
• Monitor supplier and carrier KPIs and drive continuous improvement across processes.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Quality, Warehousing and Finance teams to ensure continuity of supply.
• Improve logistics efficiency, supplier performance, sustainability and purchasing processes across the agriculture and food supply chain.
