Job summary

WSP is recruiting a Security Vetting Officer in the UK to support the Vetting & Personnel Security function within Security Management. You will ensure compliant vetting, manage shared mailboxes, and assist with insider threat governance, data integrity, and stakeholder collaboration.

Ideal candidates will hold SC clearance or be able to obtain it, possess excellent communication and organisational skills, and be driven to maintain confidentiality and continuous improvement in security processes.

Qualifications

• Must hold SC clearance or be able to achieve it.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities with ability to prioritise a busy workload.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Satisfy vetting and screening requirements; ensure compliance with internal policy and external obligations (e.g. BPSS, NSV, Aviation, Nuclear).
• Manage Security Vetting and Aviation shared mailboxes; provide timely advice to project teams.
• Assist with insider threat governance and risk management; escalate adverse findings per procedures.
• Support National Security Vetting procedures, aftercare, and business-case prep.
• Assist with reporting, audits, and remediation to ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Collaborate with HR and project teams to fulfil vetting requirements and maintain stakeholder relations.
• Support security awareness programs to promote secure culture.
• Coordinate and manage travel security processes, briefings, and country-specific requirements before travel.
