Job summary

Cisco UK is seeking a Vetting Manager to lead the vetting and background-checking function across the organization. The role requires SC clearance with suitability for DV, and a minimum of five years in security vetting within the UK public sector or government-aligned entities.

You will drive transformation toward IPSA and reinforce compliance with GDPR and related laws. The successful candidate will coordinate with HR, Legal, and IT, deliver vetting training, and operate at a strategic level

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of UK security clearance procedures and related legal frameworks.
• Advanced communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Experience with government accreditation schemes (e.g., IPSA) or similar compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end vetting process for employees, contractors, and partners.
• Drive activities toward IPSA and act as a point of contact for IPSA-related work; deputise for Security Controller when needed.
• Liaise with HR, Legal, and IT to ensure understanding and adherence to vetting procedures.
• Organise and deliver training sessions on vetting requirements for HR teams and hiring managers.
• Assess complex cases, identify risks, and make informed decisions.
